1. Scope
These terms apply to the SynapsePro website and the SynapsePro add-on for Anki. By downloading or using the add-on, you agree to use it in accordance with these terms and applicable law.
2. Free availability
SynapsePro is currently provided free of charge through its official AnkiWeb listing. No payment information is collected or processed on this website. Future optional services, if introduced, would be described separately before they are used.
3. Compatibility and updates
Anki add-ons interact with software that is developed independently. Changes to Anki, operating systems, or other add-ons can affect compatibility. We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue individual features when necessary for security, compatibility, or product development.
Install updates from trusted sources and check compatibility before relying on SynapsePro in an important study workflow.
4. Optional third-party services
Some features may connect to third-party services when you choose to configure them, including AI providers or external websites. Their own terms and privacy policies apply. You are responsible for any credentials, API keys, content, or costs associated with services you activate.
5. Your responsibility
You remain responsible for your Anki collection, learning decisions, and the accuracy of content generated or displayed by optional tools. AI-generated explanations can be incomplete or wrong and should be verified, especially for medical, legal, financial, or other high-stakes subjects.
Maintain current backups of your Anki collection before installing updates or making substantial changes. Do not use the add-on to process content you are not permitted to share with a configured third-party service.
6. Availability
We aim to keep the website and add-on available and useful, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, permanent availability of every feature, or compatibility with every configuration.
7. Liability
Liability is unlimited where required by law, including for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body, or health, and mandatory statutory liability. In cases of ordinary negligence, liability is limited to breaches of essential contractual obligations and to the foreseeable damage typical for such an agreement. Otherwise, liability is excluded to the extent permitted by law.
8. Intellectual property
Website text, visual design, branding, and original SynapsePro materials are protected by applicable intellectual property law. Rights in Anki and third-party materials remain with their respective owners. A link to source code or a separate software license, where provided, governs the corresponding code.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the product, legal requirements, or service model changes. The current version and update date are published on this page.
10. Governing law
German law applies, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules that apply in your country of residence.
